height , 5 ft 2 inches
weight , 198 (due to denser body)
tattoos and piercings , None
distinguishing features , His hair and eyes - being a color that's all but unheard of in Japan, they are a dead giveaway to what he really is, as well as his lineage among other dragon demons and any other demons who know of his family line.
physical flaws , Due to living a rather sheltered life until the age of about 30 and generally making a point to avoid all conflicts after that when possible, Ryusuke still has yet to obtain any scars or similar markings.
personal style , When in public and able to forego the more formal wear that he tends to be forced into when around his extended family or grandfather, Ryusuke tends to stick to a dull olive brown hakama, white under gi and a dull olive brown gi over that, and for footwear he typically wears white tabi socks with straw sandals.
weapons , None

likes , Warm weather, peaceful/agreeable humans/demons/hanyous, warm food, Japanese food, tea, intelligence/creativity, open minded people, simple clothing, mountainous areas, his grandfather
dislikes , Overly formal styles of speech/social mannerisms, politics, cold weather, cold food, flat/wide open areas, senseless violence/destruction, crude/violent humans/demons/hanyous, his cousins (most of them, anyways), the being responsible for his father’s death, demon hunters (to a certain extent – he takes no issue with the lifestyle, but as a dragon he is often a prime target for their materials)
powers ,
Dragon: Already counted among the strongest of the demons in terms of species and being one of divine birthright, Ryusuke is already far stronger than most demons could ever hope to become, as well as many dragons for that matter. While Ryusuke does share the extreme resistance to elemental (ice, fire, water, electric, etc) attacks that the rest of his kind possess, he also has a relatively strong resistance to most spiritual powers as well. In addition to such resistances comes the sheer physical power of his dragon form – while he hasn’t developed any special abilities as of yet and is still but a hatchling compared to the vast majority of his extended family, Ryusuke’s dragon form is still easily over 80 feet in length, with his head the size of a small car. His scales, already harder than most steel, will only continue to grow tougher with time. Combined with his fearsome physical might and razor sharp claws, Ryusuke is not an opponent to take lightly, and his human form isn’t lacking in power either – while he has no special techniques as of yet, he is still faster, stronger and far more agile than any human or hanyou could hope to be, capable of dizzying acrobatics, several meter long leaps and able to lift several tons with relative ease. His skin in human form is quite tough as well, able to turn back nearly any attack short of the finest human blades or weapons forged from demon remains, claws or fangs.
Bursting with Life Energy: Like his father and many of his cousins, Ryusuke is overflowing with life giving energies, allowing him to recover from nearly any wound that he survives – losing an arm, leg or organ would be trivial to him as long as it did not kill him outright, as he would be able to grow back the missing body part within mere days or weeks, only hours in the case of a tooth or smaller body part. This extends to his blood as well – it is able to heal nearly any wound when given to a human, as well as stave off death and even grant a mortal the powers of a dragon if large enough amounts are given. Very large transfusions of Ryusuke’s blood or transplanting a piece of his organs into a mortal can even grant immortality, stopping a person from aging and granting them the longevity that Ryusuke’s family enjoys. While the last bit is a closely kept secret among his kind, though, the bit about dragon’s blood serving as a cure-all is fairly well known, making Ryusuke a prime target for the greedy and avaricious everywhere, even demon slayers in whatever area he happens to be passing through should word of his presence become known.
Gift of Tongues: A fairly standard ability among dragons, Ryusuke is capable of understanding nearly any language, spoken or written, be it human, demon or even in some cases, animal.
Flight: Exactly what it says on the tin. While in dragon form, Ryusuke is capable of unassisted flight.
strengths , Tolerant, intelligent, creative, open minded, experienced, pragmatic
weaknesses , Cold weather (as it will severely tempt him to simply sleep for days at a time), still extremely weak compared to the rest of his family, spiritual abilities (while he is fairly resistant to such powers they remain among the best ways to defeat him), perhaps too tolerant, easily irritated by a select few things
fears , Dying, being forced to confront what killed his father, the amount of responsibility that may come should his grandfather choose him as his father’s successor
overall personality , A product of both his upbringing in more ways than can be imagined, Ryusuke is not what many might imagine when the word “dragon” comes to mind, although that more depends on which school of thought one is to believe concerning the numerous world wide legends considering the creatures – while they are known for their raw power and strength almost without exception, accounts on whether they are powerful, destructive beasts to be feared or wise, benevolent beings with man’s best interests in mind tend to vary wildly depending on where one lives. Ryusuke, thankfully, would be counted among the later, much like his father and grandfather, both of which were true to the traditional oriental view of the creatures – distant, but benevolent and wise, observers, advisors and protectors to mankind when needed, a legacy which Ryusuke himself has inherited and takes great pride in. Extremely intelligent and even tempered if somewhat distant to most who meet him, Ryusuke knows full well that he is still relatively young compared to both his immediate and extended family and as such tends to stay quiet and stick to the background when possible, learning through observation. His decades long sojourn to his grandfather’s domains in the lands west of Japan has given him a great deal of experience dealing with humans both as a species and as individuals, making him wise beyond his years, although he tends to be extremely modest about his experience in large part due to being the youngest member of his extended family. Thanks in large part to his father’s and grandfather’s tutelage in preparing him to take his father’s place as well as quite possibly that of his grandfather’s in time, Ryusuke has a very strong sense of right and wrong, and while he may bend the rules here and there or make exceptions where he feels it may be warranted, he has had yet to be led astray by this code of ethics. If there are any flaws in his personality, they lie mostly with the fact that he might be too patient with individuals at times, and that he will often slack off whenever possible and disappear for days at a time, although this likely has more to do with his subjective biological age which would physically place him in his mid teens. While he is nearly impossible to truly irritate, though, those who manage to do so will likely end up regretting it – his tolerance is matched only by his wrath, true to his heritage, and it is not something to be taken lightly.
When among friends, people he trusts or those who he otherwise feels at ease around, though, Ryusuke’s demeanor will begin to change a great deal. While the portion of his personality that most people see isn’t a falsehood by any means, Ryusuke keeps himself in check lest he appear to be any less than what is expected of him. Among those he feels comfortable with, though, his true self will begin to emerge – that of a easy going, somewhat humorous if albeit solemn individual, although at times he will be something of a trickster and a comedian. It is during such times that Ryusuke stands out for what he really is – not by any means a child anymore, with those days long since past, but not quite an adult either.

Ryusen (father) , 2,798 (deceased), lord and protector of the Shikoku and Kyushu provinces (a job since taken over by Ryusuke’s grandfather until he can fulfill the role).
Naomi (mother) , 2,621, dragon resident of Kyushu.
siblings (none, but too many cousins to name), ranging from 90 years old to roughly 1,800, many of them serving as protectors of various locales in Japan and China, with most of them being competitors to succeed their grandfather’s position (over 6,000 years old and Chinese/Japanese dragon god).
pets , (not applicable)
history , To truly understand Ryusuke’s life, one cannot start at the point where he was born – out of context it makes little sense, and as such one much start with his grandfather, the first dragon and to whom nearly all dragons in existence can trace their lineage to in some form. Since the earliest days of China’s written history Xiao Yan (the name he had taken for himself), had served as the region’s protector, advising the humans when needed but otherwise serving no purpose beyond simply watching their species and civilization grow and advance, his mere presence serving to deter most demons from his domain. As time went on and China grew and advanced, with other, similar dragons evolving or otherwise simply appearing as the millennia went by, Xiao Yan attempted to spread his influence to allow many of the world’s other regions and civilizations to partake in the golden age that China was enjoying under his protection – an experiment that, to Xiao Yan’s eternal shame and dismay, failed miserably in most sections of the world, with many of his kind to the west becoming little more than savage beasts, much like those that Xiao Yan protected his people against. While there were exceptions here and there, Xiao Yan would abandon this idea for roughly another millennia or two until the birth of one of his sons, Ryusen, who would leave China to travel to the east, eventually reaching southern Japan, which while known to Xiao Yan had more or less been left alone. Having been raised according to his father’s will and shocked at the devastation that plagued the nation, both at the hands of demons and mortals, Ryusen decided to do much as his father had done, settling down in the Shikoku province – much to the initial dismay of the human inhabitants due to his sheer size and appearance, but over the course of several centuries eventually accepted by them as well as many of the resident demons as the de facto lord and protector of the region. Several more centuries would pass until anything changed beyond a number of otherwise insignificant challenges and attempts by other powerful demons to overtake the lands under Ryusen’s protection, which eventually expanded to include the Kyushu province to the south in something of a political marriage to another dragon who had set up shop much as he had. It wouldn’t be until several centuries later that anything would change, and it is at this point that Ryusuke himself would come into the picture, born 74 years before Hell would open itself to the world.
Needless to say, Ryusuke was raised to be fully aware of what he was and who his grandfather and father were, as well as their self appointed responsibility to protect and serve the humans within their borders and when possible, those outside of it as well. Having lived a mostly sheltered life much like that of a nobleman of the era, Ryusuke was completely unprepared for his father’s death when it came at the hands of an invading force – overwhelmed and forced to fight an opponent just as powerful as he himself was, Ryusen barely managed to turn back the invaders, singlehandedly destroying the demon army and landing a mortal blow on their leader. Lacking any sizable force of his own, however, Ryusen was forced to fight on his own, and eventually succumbed to his wounds, which were far too numerous and serious for even his life giving dragon blood to heal in time to save himself. The leader of the invaders, however, while mortally wounded in the encounter, escaped, leaving open the possibility of another attack with only Ryusuke’s mother left to defend both Kyushu and Shikoku, as Ryusuke himself was only 30 years old at the time and would only be a liability in such an occurrence . Xiao Yan, receiving word of his son’s death and well aware of the implications, immediately made his way across the inland sea to his son’s domain, temporarily taking up residence in Shikoku with the intent to protect both the region and his grandson until Ryusuke had grown powerful enough to take his father’s place. With his cousins left to defend China and Naomi unable to turn her attention away from her own lands less they fall prey to a similar attack to the one Shikuko had been subject to, Ryusuke was left to be raised in his grandfather’s care, something that they young dragon would forever be grateful for. Xiao Yan, while quite a bit stricter and quicker to irritate than Ryusen was, still attempted to instill the same values in Ryusuke that his father had, something that would prove to be greatly successful. Several more decades would pass until anything would change again beyond Ryusuke’s physical growth, until Xiao Yan would summon Ryusuke to give him one last instruction – to travel, much as Xiao Yan himself had done in his own youth, and see the land of Japan and its people for what they were and could be, and to return to Shikoku in five years’ time, at which time Xiao Yan would determine whether or not Ryusuke was ready to assume the place that his father had once held. Somewhat confused by the command but unquestioning of it, Ryusuke set out, leaving Shikoku at the relatively young age of 74 as he would begin to head north.
